Neuroendocrine

Neuroendocrine tumors can be difficult to identify because they often grow slowly and may not cause symptoms early on. PET/CT scans are especially valuable in evaluating these conditions, as they can help locate tumors, assess their activity, and determine whether they have spread to other areas of the body. This information is critical for guiding treatment decisions and long-term monitoring.

OMI of Gadsden provides specialized PET/CT imaging for neuroendocrine conditions using advanced technology and experienced interpretation. We focus on delivering precise, timely results while treating every patient with the care and attention we would give our own family.

Neuroendocrine PET/CT – What to Expect

Neuroendocrine PET/CT scans use a tracer that targets specific receptors often found on neuroendocrine tumors. This allows the scan to identify tumors that may not be visible on standard imaging. After the tracer is administered, there is a short waiting period before the scan begins. The imaging itself is quiet and noninvasive, and it provides your physician with detailed information to guide diagnosis and treatment planning.
